Summer is still here...but let the schooling begin!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."     Jeremiah 29:11

The school year has begun at Bridwell Christian Academy.  I'm glad we started early because, so far, it's been 2 weeks and we only completed 5 days of school.  Some days are a challenge.  Rhealyn says she doesn't like school, yet she carries around her children's encyclopedia book and loves to look at it.

I feel like I'm neglecting Valor because I'm so concentrated on Rhealyn.  He does good putting puzzles together by himself and playing with his trains and cars, but he also finds my phone and knows how to get to the PBS app I have on there to watch videos.  I want to include him in on the learning, but it's way to advance for him right now.  With a 4 year gap between them I feel like they are so divided.

But then again they get along very well (most of the time) and make each other laugh.  I love watching them interact with Valor following every action Rhealyn does and actually doing what she says.  I can only pray that this connection between never goes away, or better yet, gets stronger.

We had a very fun summer with friends and family gathering for dinners and swim parties.  We are very thankful to have such wonderful and supportive people in our lives.

Spring is here!!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

It is amazing how this really does apply to everyday life! I've been talking to God about homeschooling and how I should go about doing it and what curriculum I need to use...there is so much out there that it's easy to get lost in it...not God.

Then there are the trials that we face. We try to understand why certain things happen, we try to wrap our heads around the situation and ask why, or what could I have done differently. Everything happens for a reason and trusting God is the most important and most supportive thing I could ever do. His word comforts and heals in ways that nothing else can. Amen!

We have been loving this weather...if only it would stay this way in Texas! We have been going outdoors more, getting some exercise, watching our strawberries and flowers grow...I love the spring season!

We went to the Zoo last week and had a blast! It was the perfect weather...

Happy New Year!

With the new year I hope to improve in a few areas. One being my prayer life and sharing more scripture time with my children.

I have not achieved perfection, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Jesus Christ, is calling us.
Philippians 3:12-14
